Thoughtful Thursday 4.2.15

Check out these great questions your freshmen created about poems they read:

"One Art"
The speaker loses so much.  Why doesn't she gain anything?
Do you agree with the speaker's view on loss?  What have you lost?

"Saint Francis and the Sow"
Why is there so much imagery with flowers?

"anyone lived in a pretty how town"
Why do you think the author uses repetition to establish the descriptions about the seasons?
Why does the poet use the rhyme scheme in this poem?

"I, Too, Sing America"
Why is it so sad and grey?

"We Real Cool"
Why are they so rebellious?
Why will they "die soon"?
Why does this poem evoke sadness?
What "bad things" do the "cool" kids do?

"Unity"
Why does the mood change from sad to happy in such a short time?
